SPM is Only Agency Named a Great Place to Work in Healthcare
SPM Marketing & Communications was the only marketing communications firm to be named one of the 2016 “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare” by Becker’s Hospital Review. The award recognizes organizations that demonstrate workplace excellence in benefits offerings, wellness initiatives, professional development, diversity and inclusion, work-life balance, and a sense of community among employees.
The included organizations were split into eight general categories: hospitals/health systems, ambulatory surgery centers, physician practices and medical groups, health IT and revenue cycle management companies, management and consulting groups, healthcare staffing and practice management groups, services providers and supplier organizations, and other. Of the 150 companies, SPM was the only healthcare marketing agency honored on the list.
Many factors went into SPM’s designation as a great place to work. The company offers full benefits, including a 401(k) profit sharing plan, plus additional benefits such as free parking and complimentary wine, beer, soda, and snacks. Employees enjoy monthly in-office birthday and anniversary parties, sponsored monthly teambuilding outings, and two off-site agency retreats annually. Plus, the company has professional development training and “Lunch & Learns” frequently throughout the year.
The decision was also based on SPM’s commitment to fulfilling its mission, to creating a positive and inclusive work environment, and to taking care of its employees and encouraging good work/life balance.
“Happy people create better marketing,” says SPM Managing Partner Patti Winegar. “That’s why we foster an inclusive, flexible, and motivating work environment for our employees. We’re truly honored to be recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review.”
The top places to work were selected by the Becker’s Healthcare editorial team. A version of this list has been published every year since 2011, but this is the third year the list includes both providers and non-provider organizations.
